It has announced the November 2021 Google Core Update. This one started rolling out on November 17, 2021, and is expected to take a couple of weeks for completion, as they do all of these broad core updates typically more than regular day-to-day ones in any given year with dynamic volatility affecting the search landscape this time around at least according to what two public commenters have said – Danny Sullivan (Google’s head honcho) & John Mueller.

Google has been tweaking its algorithm to rank websites more highly since a core update in December 2020, but many sites were already feeling the impact of this before then. In an interview with Google’s Senior Vice President for Search Products and User Experience, John DeMartini released a statement that acknowledged there was a concern surrounding the holiday shopping season as well as the time when people typically go online in higher volumes than other times during the year due to seasonal trends like Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

In the initial announcement, Google also linked their webmaster’s guide to the Google core update. It doesn’t give much information that most SEO’s don’t already know.
However, a lot of it is common sense and reminders for those who do care about high-quality content as well as providing an opportunity on how you can make your site rank better with more focus on what makes them different from other sites in regards to expertise or user experience really helps remind people why they should put time into improving both aspects if possible because at least then there will be less risk involved when rolling out changes later down the road were not sure where google might go next but just knowing this now could help us prepare.
Semrush did a study that showed 2021 has an increased 68% in desktop search result volatility, and 84 more volatile on mobile. The reason for this rise is due to spam updates as well unconfirmed algorithm changes by Google every week- which makes it nearly impossible to predict what will show up when you do searches!

We’ll be sure to let you know if we notice anything new as this update continues rolling out, so stay tuned for updates both on social media and here on our blog.
